This is a shallow overview of how to play the game.
How do I get started?
Shuffle and deal out 10 cards to each player clockwise. The remaining cards will then create the Pylon. The first player dealt starts first and whoever discards first will create the discard pile.
What is the objective of the game?
There first objective is too…
1. Complete a 4-3 Formation or a Streak of 7 cards of the same color then lay them down face up on your floor or table.
2. Now just get rid of your remaining cards and the last card you touch down is a touchdown and you win.
What is a 4-3 Formation?
They are made by combining a Set of 4 like cards and a Set of 3 like cards. Not by color but by name. You can add more cards to a set and you can down one set at a time you don’t have to lay them both at once.
What is a Streak?
Match a Streak card with 6 other cards of the same color to create a streak and lay it down face up.
First down
The very first set or streak laid down is considered a first down and can’t be stolen until another set or streak is laid down then anything can be stolen.
How do I get cards?
When its your turn pick up a card from the pylon or the discard pile unless it has a deadplay symbol to add to your hand.
How do I end my turn?
Discarding on the discard pile automatically ends your turn. If you don’t discard on the discard pile say “Pass” or motion with your hand to the next player to end your turn.
What if I lay down one set?
If you lay down one set you do not have to pick up a card if you can discard.
How do I discard?
You can discard if your card matches the color or likeness (name) of the card on the discard pile.
I made my 4-3 Formation or Streak now what?
Once you have completed a 4-3 Formation or a Streak you will be in the redzone in which you will try to get rid of all of your cards to win. If you can’t discard in any manner then you will have to pick up a card from the pylon. In the redzone you earn the ability to hit and stack.
What is hitting?
Hitting is a form of discarding where you will get rid of cards on anyone’s sets or streaks including yourself.
How do I Stack?
You can discard multiple like cards at the same time. Action is used on the top card only if you stack multiple action cards.
How do I win?
Right before you have one card left say “Omaha” to alert your opponents.This will put you at the goal line. The last card you touch down is a touchdown and you win. If you stack out of the game you do not have to say Omaha. To be creative you can do anything to alert your opponents that you have one card left instead of “Omaha”.
I heard I can bluff in this game how can I do that?
You can lay a set face down which is called a disguised set and if that set has all cover cards then you are not considered to be bluffing but safe. If any of those cards are not cover cards then you are considered to be bluffing.
Are there times I can’t bluff?
If you lay down a disguised set you must have at least three cards in your hand at the end of that turn.
Can my disguised set be challenged?
Yes. During someones turn they can challenge you unless you have said “Omaha” and if you are bluffing you will lose all your sets and all the cards in your hand but one of your choice. If you are not bluffing they will lose all of their sets or streak and all of their cards but one of their choice.
What is a Handoff?
You can skip players and in same cases more then one person.
What is a Reverse?
You can change direction of play and possibly skip more then one person.
What is a Draw Play?
Make players pick up cards. You can also defend it by laying down the same card which chains it together and forwards the action to the next player. The next player would then have to pick up all cards combined.
What is a Pick Six?
Make players pick up cards. You can also defend it by laying down the same card which chains it together and forwards the action to the next player. The next player would then have to pick up all cards combined.
What is a Fumblerooski?
You can lose a set to your opponent or the bottom of the discard pile if you play it at the wrong time.
What is an Interception?
You can steal cards from players hands or you can steal sets or streaks from other players.
What is a Deflection?
You can deflect an interception and if you have a set or a streak with a deflection you can keep from being intercepted.
What is a Spy?
You can spy on other people’s cards.
What is a Hail Mary?
You can change the color of play and go again.
What is a Wildcat?
You can change the color of play and add it to a set or a streak to take place of another card.
What is a Bootleg?
You can steal a set from any player and change the color of play.
What is a Naked Bootleg?
You can steal up to two sets from any amount of people or a streak and change the color of play.
Do some cards have additional powers?
Yes some cards have power moves which are enhanced abilities over the norm both good and bad.
